Sissiborgaon College was established in the year 1992 in an area that was socioeconomically and educationally very backward, and where devastating floods affected the common and rural people yearly. The main occupation of the majority of the people in the area is cultivation.
The vision of the institution is to impart higher education to the students of poor and downtrodden flood-affected families of this locality. Besides teaching and learning, the college has given due attention to extension activities.
